Privacy Policy

Homework is a household organization app operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the app atapp.makeourhomework.com and this marketing site, why, and the control you have over it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking.

Information we collect

Account information

• Adults: email address, a display name, and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
• Child accounts: a display name and an optional avatar only. A parent creates and controls these; we do not collect an email address, phone number, or other direct contact information from a child.

Content you create

The things you put into a household: rooms, tasks and their schedules, Gratitude Coins and notes, rewards and goals, allowance figures you choose to track, grocery items, and announcements. This content is visible to the members of your household.

Device and technical information

• If you enable notifications, a push subscription token from your browser so we can send the digest and nudge.
• Your time zone and notification times, so reminders arrive at the right local time.
• Standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) kept briefly for security and debugging.

This site uses no analytics or cookies beyond what is strictly needed to serve the pages.

How we use it

• To run the service — sign-in, syncing your household, sending the reminders you opt into.
• To provide support when you contact us.
• To keep the service secure and diagnose problems.
• To send occasional product-update emails, only if you asked for them. Every one has an unsubscribe link.

We do not use your household content to train models or for advertising.

Service providers

We share data only with the vendors that run the service for us, under their data-processing terms:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and storage of your account and household data (hosted in the United States).
• Vercel — hosting for the app and this site.
• Resend — sending transactional and support email.
• Cloudflare — DNS and routing for our support@ address.

We disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

Children’s privacy (COPPA)

Homework supports accounts for children under 13, created and managed by a parent or guardian within their household. For those accounts we collect only a display name and optional avatar — no contact information — and only to provide the service inside the family. A parent can review, change, or delete a child account and its content at any time from the app, or by emailing us. We do not condition a child’s participation on disclosing more than is reasonably necessary, and we do not share child account information with third parties except the service providers above.

Your choices and rights

• Access and correction: most data is visible and editable in the app.
• Deletion: delete your account from Settings → Account. Deleting the account that created a household deletes the household for all its members. Ask us first if you want an export.
• Notifications and email: toggle push reminders in the app; unsubscribe from update emails via any email’s link.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, portability, erasure, objection). Contact us to exercise them.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When an account or household is deleted, its content is removed from our live systems promptly and from backups within [RETENTION WINDOW]. Short-lived server logs age out on their own.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to household data is enforced at the database level so members see only their own household. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep this one safe and will notify affected users of a breach as required by law.

International users

Our providers are based in the United States, so using Homework involves transferring your information there.

Changes

We’ll update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date. If a change is significant, we’ll give notice in the app or by email.
