Getting started
One adult creates the household and shares the invite code from Settings → Household. Everyone else installs the app, taps “Join a household,” and enters the code. Then add your rooms and the tasks that recur in each.
Adding kids
For a child without an email address, a parent creates a child account from Settings → Household → Add child. It has no inbox and is managed by parents. When the child is ready, a parent can graduate it to a full account with its own email and password.
Coins, notes and rewards
Marking a task done adds Gratitude Coins to your balance. Anyone can also hand coins and a note to someone who helped. Anyone can offer a reward — a treat, a favor, a tracked cash allowance — and household members spend coins to claim them or pool them toward a shared goal.
The grocery list
Add an item by typing its name. Open an item to set a preferred brand, a store, and notes about the packaging so anyone can shop for it. Tag items with a store and filter to one store at a time, and drag to match your route. Checked-off items move to Past Items, sorted by how often you buy them — tap one to add it back.
Announcements
Household managers can post an announcement that shows as a banner on everyone's Today screen. Give it a start date and a repeat to schedule things in advance (the week's dinners, for example), or post a one-time note and optionally send it as a push notification to everyone in the household.
Reminders and notifications
Homework sends one optional morning digest of what's due and one optional evening nudge if tasks are still open. Turn either on or off per person in Settings → Notifications. There are no per-task alerts.
Installing the app
Homework is a web app you add to your home screen. On iPhone: open the site in Safari, tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen.” On Android: open in Chrome, tap the menu, then “Install app.” It then opens like any other app, full screen.
Billing and your trial
The full app is free for 30 days. After that it's $25 per year for the whole household, billed annually. Manage or cancel anytime from Settings → Billing; access continues to the end of the paid period.
Deleting your account or data
From Settings → Account you can delete your account. Deleting the account that created the household removes the household and its data for everyone in it. Contact us if you need an export first.
